Some of us are terrible at asking questions. And some of us aren’t that great at asking the right question. Some of us are terrific at both! At the end of the day though, asking questions, seeking to understand, is the hallmark of a great conversation. It forms the basis of any and all relationships – whether at a customer level, prospect level, colleagues, family, friends. Sometimes those conversations are short, sometimes they’re long…..duration doesn’t always equal impact.
The end result though is, if we don’t ask questions, we’ll never know what the other person has to say.
And remember the old adage, if you want a different answer, ask a different question.
